Jack McCarthy, PE
Born in Malden, raised in Everett, and a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, Jack is a true product of the Greater Boston area. After graduating from Tufts with his BSEE in 1991, he spent most of the first ten years of his career in the field, supporting active construction projects, ranging from multi-megawatt electric power generating stations in Texas and California, to industrial test facilities in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Since 1997, Jack has focused his career on the design of mission critical facilities. His role on these projects has ranged from developing the concept design criteria, to creating the detailed design and construction documents to implement that concept. Often times, Jack is involved in the overall integrated testing of these projects, as well as insuring the client receives the performance that is expected in 7x24x365 facilities.
Jack is also actively involved in expanding idGroup's presence nationally and internationally, and has recently traveled throughout the United States, as well as parts of Europe and the Middle East, to serve present clients and meet future ones.
In recognition of his achievements in the field of engineering, Jack was selected one of the "40 Under 40" by Consulting Specifying Engineer magazine in 2008.
Jack is not only a Principal at idGroup, he is the lead Electrical Engineer, actively participating on a variety of mission critical projects for a lengthy list of high profile clients.
