Partners Healthcare

Partners Healthcare made the decision to upgrade their existing data center when the data center had grown from being a minor part of the healthcare system to a major component of providing high technology medical care. idGroup was consulted to relocate and redesign their existing 30-year-old data center. Working closely with both the information services and the real estate department at Partners, idGroup developed a plan to modify an existing facility initially built by Level 3 in the 1990's.

The resulting data center provides redundant 3N/2 infrastructure with dual path distribution to equipment. Total system capacity is 1,400kW with future expansion to 1,800kW. A diesel generator plan consisting of (3) 2,000kW generators with paralleling switchgear provided backup power for UPS and HVAC loads.
