Re-using a Part of Local History for Today’s Banking Needs
Citizens Bank | Harvard Square Branch | Cambridge, MA
Citizens Bank took over a lease for approximately 12,000 SF from Abercrombie & Fitch to build a branch bank in a popular Cambridge location. Integrated Design Group provided professional services to design a new Branch Bank in this prominent location having historical landmark status. The design team had to work within several strict parameters to meet the project goals such as a low floor-to-floor height, an oddly-shaped lease space and the need to preserve 15-feet of the structure from the façade. Additionally, the project schedule called for the ATM Lobby to be on line in less than three months.
The design features a two-story atrium that connects the floors, help draw people into the space and makes an impact on the bank customers. Integrated Design Group collaborated with Citizens’ vendors for security, signs, banking equipment and furniture using corporate standards with some unique, location-based solutions.
